After the huge success of Vivir Asi, Warner Mexico called me to do Volume II right away. Released in mid-April 2010 (a short 8 months after Vol I), it shipped gold. The morning of the release, Mijares was on TV in Mexico receiving his Gold record and I got to be there to see it! Just as with the original record, the heart of the band is Tim Pierce, Lee Sklar and Charlie Morgan. What would I do without these guys?!
The song ‘Un Buen Perdedor’ was written and originally recorded by Franco De Vita. The first Latin pop song I ever heard was ‘Te Amo’ by Franco. It’s still one of my favorites and it was a real treat to have him agree to sing his song as a duet with Mijares. Also singing on the record are Solé, a beautiful singer from Spain and Aleks Syntek. We were so lucky that they all agreed!
