Guadalupe Pineda video

May 10 2011

Today is Mother’s Day in Mexico.  In honor of the day and as the beginning of promotion for the album we just finished, Guadalupe made this video that features her and her daughter, Mariana, performing a duet version of Camilla’s ‘Solo Para Ti.’  It’s beautiful, moving and touching.  I am so proud to have been a part of it!  Happy Mother’s Day!

Guadalupe Pineda at the Mexican Consulate

September 21 2010

Cristina Abaroa, Guadalupe Pineda and Scott

I was fortunate to be invited along with my good friend, Cristina Abaroa, to the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles to see Guadalupe perform with a Mariachi band as part of the Mexican Bi-centenial celebration.  She had been the headliner at the Nokia theater the night before.  It was one serious party.  The music was amazing, the food was great and the tequila, well, was free flowing! Viva México!

Arranging, Arranging, Arranging

September 4 2010

Whew – with two records in process and various other projects, right now, it’s one arrangement after another.  So many wonderful songs:  Alexander Acha‘s fantastic new songs and beautiful covers for Guadalupe Pineda lead the way with other projects mixed in.

This past week I had the pleasure of working again with Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vagoda on some fantastics songs that they’ve written for new Disney Tinkerbell films.  They are both so talented.  It’s really a treat to get to add my two cents to these works!

There is a small amount of recording with Tim Pierce and Ramon Stagnaro here and there.  The bulk of recording, especially for Alexander Acha kicks in later in the month.  What a thrilling year it’s been so far and it’s only getting better!

Guadalupe Pineda, Tokyo Disneyland Halloween

June 2 2010

The next record is underway.  I’m producing and arranging (and probably mixing) an album for an artist named Guadalupe Pineda.  I met her on my trip to México.  She is a very well known AC artist in México and happens to be managed by the same man that manages Mijares and Yuri.  He manages three artists and now I produce all three.  Maybe he should manage me, too.   Hmmmmm…….  This is an independent album for her.  A beautiful collection of boleros.  A new adventure for me to be sure!

Tokyo Disneyland Halloween 2010

Last week was Christmas for Tokyo Disney.  This week it’s Halloween.  I’ve been asked to write one of the songs for their 2010 Halloween parade.  Halloween has turned out to be the biggest event of the year at Tokyo Disneyland.   This will be my 6th consecutive year or celebrating Halloween with my Japanese friends.  Boo!
