Barry Manilow New Release – Duets
May 5 2011
Barry Manilow released a compilation of his favorite duets yesterday. I was thrilled to find out that he included Islands In The Stream that I produced with him and features Reba McEntire. The session with Barry and Reba was a real highlight of making the 80′s record and I am forever grateful that Barry included me! I also worked with Barry and Robbie Buchanan on Bette Midler’s “Rosemary Clooney” album and Barry also included “Slow Boat From China.” Really great! Check it out on iTunes
Barry Manilow – Bring On Tomorrow
March 15 2011
Barry has released the first song from his upcoming record. The song is ‘Bring On Tomorrow.’ It was really thrilling to get to work on this classic Manilow type ballad. While it was fun producing covers with Barry on the 70′s and 80′s albums as well at ‘In The Swing of Christmas,’ I had always hoped to be able to work on a new original song with him. This was my chance. I did the original demo with him and then finished it with Barry and Michael Lloyd who produced the rest of Barry’s new album. ’Bring On Tomorrow’ is sure to be added to the catalog of classic Manilow songs. Enjoy!
Yuri’s New Single, Mijares and Disney Projects
May 25 2010
It’s been a crazy busy week. I’m gearing up to start a couple new records that I’ll post about as they get underway.
Mijares’ Vivir Así Volumen II is still right in the middle of the top ten. Today marks our 6th week on the charts, right up there with Miguel Bosé, Juan Gabriel, Thalia and Camila. Not bad company!
Disney Projects
Work this week has been all about the Mouse. Believe it or not, it’s time to start preparing Christmas music for Tokyo Disney. I always love Christmas in June. We recorded Barry’s ‘In The Swing of Christmas‘ album on Mother’s Day a couple years ago. Odd.
Another division of Disney asked me to do a sound-a-like for a new feature trailer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua II (yes, there’s another one coming!) and I’m working on scoring some short promotional pieces for the Disney Vacation Club. Maybe I should have been a Mouseketeer!
Yuri’s new single ‘Arrepentida’
Yuri’s new single ‘Arrepentida’ was released yesterday on the Warner Mexico website and almost immediately made it’s way to YouTube and her myriad of fan pages on Facebook. So far, the response has been overwhelmingly great! Samo, the lead singer and songwriter for the group Camila wrote this beautiful song!
Arranging for Yuri’s album continues.
April 8 2010
Arranging for Yuri’s album continues. Michael Thompson’s work is fantastic!
Ron Dante was over today. We finished up another track for Davy Jones. It’s fantastic and really shows off Davy’s personality! Ron and I also co-produced a version of “That’s How You Know” from Disney’s “Enchanted” for him. It’s part of a new collection called “Disney’s Happily Ever After” that was released on April 06, 2010. The collection also features Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel), Jim Brickman, Wayne Brady and various Disney Characters.
